The School Education Department, Government of Balochistan, is the primary body responsible for planning, regulating, and improving school education (Primary to Grade 10) across the province. With a network of over 12,000 schools and 75,000+ teachers, we serve more than 2.5 million students in 36 districts.
Established with the vision of providing quality education to every child, we work tirelessly to improve learning outcomes, upgrade infrastructure, and empower our teaching workforce with modern tools and training.

Secretary School Education
a specialized department unit for providing policy & planning support.
is responsible for regulating Text Books prepared on the approved curriculum of the province.
is responsible for the development of curriculum, review of Text Books, & setting of education standards.
supports the Department by providing education through public-private partnerships.
is responsible for the in-service training of teachers working in the public sector schools & staff working within the education sector in the province.
is conducting diagnostic assessments for primary & middle levels students & large-scale examinations for Grade eight in the province.
is conducting the province's secondary & higher secondary school certificate examinations. The Board is currently working under the administrative control of the Colleges, Higher, & Technical Education.
The Director of Education heads the Directorate of Education, responsible for managing all schools & their personnel in the province. Two Divisional Directors & the District Education Officers support the Director in the districts. The DEO is supported by the District Officer Education Male/female & other staff working under them in the district.
The Directorate of Colleges & Higher Education was established on 1979 with the important aims of promoting Higher Education in the Province both quantitatively & qualitatively. The Directorate ceased to exists on 2001 under the devolution plan. As all the Directorates were merged into a single Directorate of Education. It was however revived in January 2002 on account of ineffective administrative & supervisory control with college Directorate.
Balochistan Education Endowment Fund (BEEF) is an Initiative of Government of Balochistan for creation of a talented pool of youth of Balochistan including the less privileged section of society; contributing towards economic & social development to realize the dream of a moderate, progressive & prosperous Pakistan by providing Need & Merit based Scholarships out of the “Endowment Fund” granted by Government of Balochistan.
